Sonja Syslo
Provisional Psychologist
Sonja is a provisionally registered psychologist who completed a Master of Science in Neuropsychology at the University of Vienna (Austria) and a Master of Professional Psychology at Curtin University. She has worked across both private and government settings, providing comprehensive cognitive assessments, consultation services, and evidence-based individual and group therapy.
Sonja has a strong interest in neurodevelopmental presentations, including ADHD and Autism, and is experienced in conducting detailed assessments within these areas. She also has specialised experience in novel neuromodulation approaches, including neurofeedback, transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS).
Her clinical background spans private practice, school settings, and youth rehabilitation services for drug and alcohol dependence. Sonja draws from a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), allowing her to tailor treatment to each client’s unique goals and circumstances.
Her approach is warm, empathetic, and person-centred. Sonja strives to create a supportive and collaborative therapeutic space where individuals feel heard, understood, and empowered as they work toward meaningful change and improved well-being.
Outside of her clinical work, Sonja enjoys pilates, hiking, baking, and pottery.
